A Dream of Gods:

COVER JJ Winters Of Meetings and Snowfall

Of Meetings and Snowfall "Do you ever feel like your whole world is really just a dream?"

Book 1 Synopsis

Humans and gods have always lived parallel to one another; their lives seemingly never to intersect. Humans offer prayers. Gods fulfill them. Well, sometimes. And the mountain, the revered and dangerous monument at the center of the human continent of Eleison, marks the link between them.

This is all Noa knew of the gods before finding herself sacrificed to them. But when her life does not end at the mountain’s snowy base, or in the house of a powerful god, she finds herself wondering when, exactly, it will. Taking each day as a last-minute chance to experience a beautiful world, Noa finds herself growing more and more comfortable in this house at the edge of it. Not to mention, the particular and peculiar god of the house Leos, whose reclusive and routine tendencies are really being tested by Noa’s sudden vibrance. Still, maybe for a god lost in quiet grief and outward apathy, laughter and life aren’t so bad a thing.

And maybe together, in a world of second chances and first experiences, the two can unearth conspiracies both new and old in Cantata, the realm of the gods. Because something dark is looming on the horizon, a rupturing a hundred years in the making.

Book 2 Synopsis

Humans and gods have always lived parallel to one another, their lives seemingly never to intersect. Humans offer prayers. Gods fulfill them. Well, sometimes. And the mountain, the revered and dangerous monument at the center of the human continent of Eleison, marks the link between them.

Noa and Leos, a united front, have begun to find the answers they seek. The strife in Cantata, brought about by a deeply rooted apathy, has led to the deaths of women just like Noa. And who does this conflict return to but Leos’s childhood friend Michalis, a man so wounded by Cantata’s apathy he would sooner take it all down than watch it rot further.

But when Noa becomes a pawn in Michalis’s grand and nebulous schemes, she will need to survive the most dangerous place in Cantata and the knowledge found there. Leos must meanwhile align himself with Michalis to bring her home, knowing full well that one of them will not return from their journey to the frozen north, where the gods keep their throne.

A new emperor has risen, and with him, a new world order. Noa, Leos, and Michalis may have walked away from their final battle in Cantata, but they did not do so unscathed. Leos knows something is wrong with Noa, and Noa knows something is wrong with Michalis, but they find themselves unable to cross the growing breach between them all.

It takes a heart-wrenching proposal from Michalis to shift the balance, one that separates Noa and Leos to protect them from each other. Their paths diverged, Noa finds herself back in Eleison, and at the center of Capital Gloria’s growing strife. Leos, struggling against Griphael’s need for control, finds himself reforging his beliefs against the dangerous politics of Cantata. As both worlds shift to a state beyond repair, will the choices Noa and Leos make lead them back to each other?

Novella Synopsis

Humans and gods have always lived parallel to one another, their lives seemingly never to intersect. Humans offer prayers. Gods fulfill them. Well, sometimes. And the mountain, the revered and dangerous monument at the center of the human continent of Eleison, marks the link between them.

Lark is a child of the wilds. After years of honing her skill as a swordswoman and survivalist, she finds herself returning to the place that inspired such spite and anger: her home village. But when Lark learns that the sister she left behind has been sacrificed to the gods, she is resolved to face whatever challenges the wilds and the mountain have to offer just to save her.

But the mountain has ways of testing those who tread upon it, and Lark finds herself facing physical challenges that defy logic, as well as the ghosts of her past. Only with the help of the mountain’s eccentric denizens can she hope to reach the highest strata of the mountain—and ascend to Cantata beyond. But as Lark climbs ever higher, she realizes that the true test of her faith will come from facing the selfish truths she’d fought so hard to hide away.
