The Story of a Fantasy Writer
Hello! I’m J.J., a writer of fantasy, romance, and all things magical. I love writing soft and cozy stories about characters finding themselves and those who understand them, but I also love some good, brutal power structures and court politics that those characters have to fight against. I have been known to speak about my characters as though they’re real people, but it makes writing and life more fun!
Some Facts About Me!

Video games are a huge inspiration for me. I love playing story and character-driven narratives, and I usually listening to game soundtracks when I write. Realistically, I’m probably doing either one of those things right now.

I’m also a Youth Services Librarian. I try to bring writing into my library as much as possible, but I am also liable to build an escape room from scratch just for fun.

My favorite book series is the Queen’s Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner. Her world building and characters are fantastic. She’s a big inspiration!

My writing buddy (and coincidentally, the best writing buddy in the world) is my black and white cat named Toshi. She’s really good at fixing spelling and screaming at me.
