Meet The Characters

Noa "It seems like only gods are afraid of skin and scars."
Noa is the human daughter of a blacksmith in a small village at the mountain’s base. She is sacrificed to the gods, but finds a new life in Cantata instead. She is always moving and touching and babbling, but this means she does not linger on hurt or let frost settle on her heart. At first content to live out her borrowed time, she later decides that the true meaning of her life is getting to the root of human rot in Eleison and the conspiracies in the Church of Credo. Those who love her value her warmth and compassion.

Leos "Does not a single person in your village play fiddle at your humble secular gatherings?
Leos is the acerbic God of the Arts living in an estate at the edge of the realm. He is prickly, arrogant, and loathe to part with his routines or his solitude, despite said solitude only being in place to protect his insecure, lonely, and deeply romantic heart. A human woman is sacrificed to him, but he saves her life. Her presence slowly restores his life and encourages him to first stop living with a stone heart, then ultimately to fight the apathy of the gods. Those who love him value his loyalty and steadfastness.

Michalis "I want you to remember everything."
Michalis is the God of Memory, the son of Xion, Goddess of Night and an unknown father. He has a caustic tongue and a remarkably quick wit—and he never forgets a thing. His brilliance is both a danger and a marvel, depending on his wicked whims. He is often manipulative and twisting, warping your own memories. He blames Leos for his mother’s death, a circumstance that sets him on the path to chaos in a pervasive, blinding grief he let no one heal. Those who love him value his empathy and cleverness.

Lark "I'd rather choose the beast I know this time."
Lark is a mercenary and child of the wilds traveling Eleison. She is searching for strength and meaning in her life, but does so at the expense of her past. She is stubborn and biting, rarely willing to conversate on emotions and always looking to exceed expectations. When she learns her sister has been sacrificed to the gods, she braves the mountain to find her, only to confront her own fractured identity. Sometimes goes by Winter. Those who love her value her tenacity and resolve.

Aurel "If it's a place for both of you, it's surely a place for me."
Aurel is a Princess of Cantata, the daughter of Emperor Wenbo and Aureline, the Goddess of Rainbows. Considered naïve and sheltered, few expect her to be named her father’s heir. She is excitable, openhearted, and prone to fantasies, her favorites being seeing her friends reunited and going to festivals in Capital Gloria with her mother like she did as a girl. Largely confined to the palace, her life has become cold and lonely, the politics increasingly confusing—soon engulfing her and those she loves. Those who love her value her optimism and kind-heartedness.

Zephyel "Do not deprive me of my honor. I can choose my path too."
Zephyel is the God of the Sky, and the son of Zephyrm and Aiya, the former God of the Sky and the current Goddess of Storms. He was raised in a serious and perfectionist environment that made him a capable, reserved, and mature young man, but fueled his anxiety. His sword skills are prodigious and his strategic insight unfailing, but he would still rather be a little fox hidden by snow, safe from an overwhelming world. He is engulfed in the politics of Cantata, forced to choose between love and loyalty. Those who love him value his emotions and dependability.

Clio "The sword I wear . . . It was hers."
Clio is the dutiful swordswoman in service to Michalis’s house due to her undying loyalty to his mother. Stoic and lethal, she rarely talks or emotes, much to the consternation of those who don’t innately understand her. The passion in her heart still burns bright though—for any rare person or cause who earns her favor. She is dedicated to protecting Michalis and seeing his will enacted, but is surprised by Noa’s commitment to connecting with her and begins to open her heart to a future of her own making. Those who love her value her insightfulness and adaptability.
